The Sumatron Model 500 Pulse Generator is designed to provide a controlled dual stage KYZ three wire pulse train. Two form "A" input terminals are furnished for controlling the pulse stream. The first and second inputs, when closed alone, will each provide a pulse rate that is user divided by one, two or four. The second input has priority and will select the rate if both inputs are closed. Pulse generators are normally applied to monitor permissive control contacts or to test pulse metering apparatus.

Varistor protected...both the power supply and the input circuit are protected from transient voltages.

High noise immunity...solid state design uses CMOS technology to reduce the input power requirement and provide a high level of noise immunity.

Debounce input circuitry...conditioning circuitry is provided for both form "A" inputs.

Solid state input capability...the unit will accept inputs from solid-state devices that have on resistances of less than 1,000 ohms and open circuit withstands higher than 12 volts DC.

Bi-color LED's...monitor the position of each input contact and the status of the output pulse stream.

Switch selectable division rates...two independent on board dip switches (one for each control input) are provided to divide the base pulse frequency by one, two or four.

Wide pulse range...the Model 500 can be ordered with the desired base pulse stream rate (up to 7,500 pulses per minute) at no extra charge. The standard rate is 133 pulses per minute.

Surge protected output contacts...RC networks are applied in parallel to the output contacts to control the rate of voltage rise across the contacts during circuit opening. The standard design will provide protection up to 300 volts and 100 MA.

Testing

Each Pulse Generator is energized for 48 hours, followed by a full operational test, to assure service integrity.
