The Sumatron Model 600 Metering Totalizer is designed to accept parallel pulses from up to six different pulse initiators and output the pulses in serial form for single channel recording. The pulses in this case must have the same scale factor and are represented by the form C contact transitions of the initiators. Metering totalizers are normally applied to reduce the number of recording channels required and to provide real time coincident demand metering capability.

Switch selectable operation modes...the Model 600 can be operated for independent dual three circuit applications or as six circuit totalizer at the flip of a switch. The dual three mode of operation is particularly attractive for totalizing both watts and vars on two or three circuits. In the six circuit mode of operation, two output relays are available and output scaling can be set differently for each relay.

Varistor protected...both the power supply and the input circuits are protected from transient voltages.

High noise immunity...solid state design uses CMOS technology to provide a high level of noise immunity.

Debounce input circuitry...3 wire KYZ inputs drive RS flip flop latches to prevent false counts from bouncing contacts.

Switch selectable maximum rates...the standard design will allow maximum output rates of 400, 200, or 100 pulses per minute to permit flexibility in application and assure that the output will be compatible with the recording device. Where your requirement is different, please specify the desired rates using 4-2-1 ratios and they will be provided at no additional charge.

Switch selectable output scaling...the input pulses can be divided by 4, 2, or 1 to provide flexibility in the application.

Bi-color LED's...monitor the state of the inputs and outputs to verify operation and facilitate troubleshooting of the metering system.

High resolution capability...each input channel is capable of accepting the remaining portion of the maximum output rate, i.e. each channel can accept the full output rate if there are no pulses on the other channels. Storage circuitry will also allow the capture of short term pulse burst rates up to twice the maximum output rate.

Cascading capability...additional circuit boards can be added as required to provide totalizing capability for more than six circuits without performance disadvantages.

Surge protected output contacts...RC networks are applied in parallel to the output contacts to control the rate of voltage rise across the contacts during circuit opening. The standard design will provide contact protection up to 300 volts at 0 to 100 MA. Where the requirement is greater than 100 MA, please specify the expected load current and voltage and the proper contact protection will be provided at no additional charge.

Testing
Each Metering Totalizer is energized for 48 hours, followed by a full operational test, to assure service integrity.
